About Us

Paws & Doors is a family business run by Carla Francis, and is a continuation of the house-sitting service orginally established by her mother Hilary in 1995. We are truly a horse-loving family, and Hilary started her career as a groom in a racing yard at the age of 16. She has worked with horses nearly all her life, and continues a passion for horses, although these days only rides ocassionally when time allows. Similarly, Carla inherited her mother's love of horses and is an amateur equine artist. Carla was a previous Editor of the Matfield & District Riding Association Newsletter and was a Receptionist for her local veterinary surgery for some time before pursuing an administrative career in an international marine & industrial engineering company.

Because we are a family business we offer the personal service that many larger house-sitting companies are unable to provide. We have over 50 regular customers in the Brenchley area of Kent, and many of them and their pets have become our personal friends.
