Frequently Asked Questions

How do we make a booking?

Please telephone or e-mail us for a quotation. If you are happy with the quotation we will send you a booking form. On receipt of your completed booking form and payment of the booking fee (25% of the total cost of the assignment) we will choose the most suitable member of our team to care for your home and pets.

We will telephone you to advise you who your homesitter or carer will be, giving you a brief history of their background. You will have the opportunity to meet the homesitter or carer prior to the commencement of the assignment if you so wish. If you are not happy with the person we have chosen for you, please telephone us straight away and we will endeavour to find an alternative for you. We will also send you a written confirmation and client checklist which will need to be completed and returned to us before the housesitter or carer arrives for the pre-assignment meeting (or start date of the assignment).

We will telephone you to make sure you are happy with the homesitter or carer we have chosen for you.

Your homesitter or carer will arrive on the day of your departure and you can leave safe in the knowledge that all will be cared for whilst you are away.

On your return, your homesitter or carer will have left an invoice for you which we kindly ask you pay direct to them, immediately as is practical on your return.

How can I rely on the integrity of your home-sitters?

All our home-sitters are thoroughly vetted and checked by us before we engage them. They are also subject to a Police Check through the Criminal Records Bureau. Many of our home-sitters are retired ex-professional people who have a wealth of practical experience of animals and life generally!

However, we strongly recommend that you advise your own house insurance company in advance that you are engaging our services. Some companies offer their clients discounts on Household Contents and Buildings Insurance if they use house-sitters during periods of absence.

What if there are any problems?

You are asked to provide your emergency contact numbers (either your own or a relative or neighbour) in the case of a serious incident. However, all our sitters and carers are able to cope with any crisis. They always have the benefit and help of our own 24hr advice line at our office.

What happens if our return is delayed?

Don't worry, our sitter will stay until you return. However, if you know you will be later than originally planned we would appreciate if you could let us or your sitter know, in case they have forward assignments which we may need to re-arrange.

What happens if our pet(s) are taken ill during our absence?

We ask you to complete the details of your local veterinary surgery on our booking form when you engage our services. By doing so, and when you sign the booking form, you agree to allow our homesitter to seek treatment from your veterinary practice for your animals in the case of medical emergency or injury. All costs incurred in the treatment of your animals will be for your own account and will be recharged where necessary.
